A festive and colorful rice dish perfect for celebrations. This delightful combination of flavors is an excellent addition to holiday tables or family gatherings. Preparation Time: 2 hours (excluding rice draining time)
Serving Size: 6-8 servings
Ingredients:
- 7 dl short-grain rice- Salt
- Sugar
- 1 jar mayonnaise
- Juice of 1 lemon
- Heavy cream (same amount as mayonnaise)
- ¾ tsp white pepper
- 1 tsp salt
- ¾ tbsp sugar
- A splash of vinegar
- Generous amount of chopped dill
- Slices of gravlax (cured salmon)
- Lettuce
- Shrimp
- Lemon slices
- Dill
- Tomato
Instructions:
1. Cook the rice in salted and sugared water for about 20 minutes. Rinse well with cold water and let it drain for a few hours.2. In a bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, lemon juice, heavy cream, white pepper, salt, sugar, vinegar, and chopped dill.
3. Combine the mixture with the drained rice and let it marinate for a few hours.
4. Assemble on a serving platter: shape the rice into a long mound.
5. Arrange lettuce around the rice and top with shrimp, gravlax, lemon slices, dill, and tomato.
