A delicious and easy-to-make almond cocoa cake, perfect for celebrations. This cake comes together quickly and disappears just as fast!

Serving Size: 8-10 servings

Ingredients:

- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder (organic)
- 1/4 cup cornstarch (Maizena)
- 2 tsp vanilla sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 cup melted butter or margarine
- about 3.5 oz almonds (or nuts)

Instructions:

1. Melt and cool the butter or margarine.
2. In a large bowl, mix together sugar, flour, cocoa powder, cornstarch, vanilla sugar, baking powder, and salt.
3. In another bowl, whisk the eggs and then add them along with the melted fat to the dry mixture.
4. Stir the ingredients just enough to combine them well.
5. Grease a round cake pan, approximately 10 inches in diameter, and pour the cake batter into it.
6. Chop the almonds and sprinkle them on top of the cake.
7. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 25 minutes. Check for doneness by inserting a wooden skewer into the center; if it comes out clean, the cake is done.
