Campfire Beans - Savory Beans with Bacon

A delicious side dish that complements summer grilling, combining white beans, bacon, and spices for a hearty bean stew. Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Serving Size: 4-6 servings
Ingredients:
- 140 g bacon- 1 onion
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 can white beans in tomato sauce
- 1 can Go Green white beans
- 2 bay leaves
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 red chili
- 2 dl heavy cream
- 4 dl water
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions:
1. Chop the bacon into small pieces. 2. Dice the onion, chili, and garlic.
3. Cook the bacon in a pan until the fat has rendered.
4. Add the chopped onion, garlic, and chili to the pan. Sauté briefly, stirring occasionally.
5. Stir in the cans of beans and mix well. If you have leftover grilled pork from the previous day, add it to the pan as well.
6. Bring the mixture to a boil and add the bay leaves.
7. Add the brown sugar and cream, stir, and bring to a boil again.
8. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and black pepper as needed.
9. If making a soup, add all the cream at once.
