Ingredients:
- For the lemon cake:
- 200 g butter
- 200 g sugar
- 4 eggs
- 200 g all-purpose flour
- 100 ml lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- A pinch of salt
- For the chocolate fondants:
- 150 g dark chocolate
- 100 g butter
- 100 g sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 egg yolks
- 50 g all-purpose flour
- For greasing: butter and cocoa powder
Instructions:
1. Prepare the lemon cake:
- Beat the butter and sugar until fluffy.
- Add the eggs one by one, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the lemon juice and zest.
- Add the flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix until smooth.
- Pour the batter into a greased cake pan and bake at 180°C (350°F) for about 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
2. Prepare the chocolate fondants:
- Melt the chocolate and butter in a double boiler.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the sugar, eggs, and egg yolks.
- Add the melted chocolate-butter mixture to the egg mixture.
- Gently fold in the flour.
- Grease the fondant molds with butter and dust with cocoa powder.
- Pour the batter into the molds and bake at 200°C (392°F) for about 10-12 minutes, until the tops are set but the centers are still soft.
3. Serving:
- Allow the lemon cake to cool before slicing.
- Serve the warm chocolate fondants alongside the lemon cake.
