A delicious and indulgent dessert combining rich chocolate cake with creamy vanilla ice cream and fresh banana slices.
Preparation Time: 1 hour 15 minutes
Serving Size: 8 servings
Ingredients:
- 150 g butter
- 150 g dark chocolate (70% cocoa)
- 4 eggs
- 200 g sugar
- 180 g all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp vanilla sugar
- 400 g vanilla ice cream
- 1 banana
Instructions:
1. Melt the butter and dark chocolate together in a saucepan over low heat, stirring until smooth.
2. In a bowl, whisk the eggs and sugar together until the mixture is pale and fluffy.
3. Fold the melted chocolate mixture into the egg-sugar mixture and mix well.
4. Sift the flour and vanilla sugar into the mixture and gently combine.
5. Pour the batter into a greased cake pan and bake at 175°C (350°F) for about 25-30 minutes. Allow to cool.
6. Once the cake is cooled, slice it in half and fill with vanilla ice cream and sliced banana.
7. Place the top half of the cake back on and optionally decorate with more ice cream and banana slices.
8. Let the cake set in the freezer for about an hour before serving.
