A traditional Finnish delicacy made from blood and flour, Veripalttu is rich in flavor and offers a unique taste experience.
Preparation Time: 1 hour
Servings: 4-6

Ingredients:

- 0.5 liters of blood
- 3.5 dl homebrew beer or regular beer
- 1.5 dl wheat flour
- 3 dl rye flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1.5-2 tsp salt
- 1 dl chopped onion (optional)
- 1 dl fat for frying

Instructions:

1. In a bowl, mix the blood, homebrew beer or regular beer, wheat flour, rye flour, baking soda, and salt. Add chopped onion if using.
2. The batter should be thick yet pourable. If it is too thick, you can add a bit more liquid.
3. Heat the fat in a frying pan. Pour the batter into the pan and fry over medium heat for about 30-40 minutes, until the surface is beautifully browned and cooked through.
4. Allow to cool slightly before serving. Cut into pieces and serve with potatoes or salad.
