Ingredients:
- 250 g sugar
- 125 g butter
- 1 egg
- 250 ml milk
- 250 g all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla sugar
- 2 tbsp red food coloring
- 1 tsp vinegar
Frosting:
- 400 g cream cheese
- 200 g powdered sugar
- 100 g butter
- 1 tsp vanilla sugar
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease and flour a cake pan.
2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the sugar and butter until light and fluffy.
3. Add the egg and mix well.
4. Alternately add the milk and the dry mixture (flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, salt, and vanilla sugar) into the wet mixture. Mix until smooth.
5. Stir in the red food coloring and vinegar, mixing until well combined.
6. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
7. Allow the cake to cool before removing it from the pan.
8. For the frosting, beat together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, butter, and vanilla sugar until smooth and creamy.
9. Spread the frosting over the cooled cake and decorate as desired.
