A delicious dessert combining tart sea buckthorn, creamy Skyr, and salty caramel sauce. A perfect finale to a flavorful meal! Preparation Time: 30 minutes + cooling
Serving Size: 4-6
Ingredients:
- Salted Caramel Sauce: - 200 ml heavy cream
- 140 g brown sugar
- 5 g salt
- Dessert:
- 300 g plain Skyr
- 130 g salted caramel sauce
- 1 tbsp freshly squeezed sea buckthorn juice
- Sea buckthorn berries (for garnish)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the salted caramel sauce. In a saucepan, combine cream and brown sugar, and cook over low heat for 5-10 minutes until the sauce lightens and thickens. Keep a close eye to prevent the sugar from boiling over. 2. Stir in the salt and mix well. Let the sauce cool in the refrigerator before using. If using store-bought caramel sauce, add 1.5% salt to taste.
3. In a bowl, mix together the plain Skyr, salted caramel sauce, and freshly squeezed sea buckthorn juice.
4. Divide the mixture into dessert bowls (4-6 servings). Drizzle a bit of salted caramel sauce on top and finish each serving with a spoonful of sea buckthorn berries.
