Classic French fries are a delicious and crispy side dish that pairs perfectly with many meals.

Ingredients:
- 4 large potatoes
- 1 liter of oil for frying
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- (Optional) spices like paprika or garlic powder
Instructions:
1. Peel and rinse the potatoes. Cut them into thin strips.
2. Soak the potato strips in cold water for about 30 minutes to remove excess starch, which helps achieve crispiness.
3. Dry the potatoes thoroughly with a kitchen towel.
4. Heat the oil in a large pot or deep fryer to about 180°C (350°F).
5. Fry the potatoes in small batches until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes.
6. Remove the fried potatoes with a slotted spoon and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
7. Season with salt and black pepper (and any other desired spices) immediately after frying.
