Ingredients:
- 250 g butter
- 250 g flour
- 100 g sugar
- 4 egg yolks
- 200 ml milk
- 100 ml cream
- 1 tsp vanilla sugar
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 egg (for brushing)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the dough by mixing together the butter, flour, and sugar until smooth.
2. Press the dough into a muffin tin and pre-bake at 180°C (350°F) for about 10 minutes.
3. In a saucepan, heat the milk, cream, and vanilla sugar until it starts to simmer.
4. In a bowl, whisk together the egg yolks, cornstarch, and sugar until well combined.
5. Gradually pour the hot milk mixture into the egg yolk mixture while continuously stirring.
6. Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook over medium heat until it thickens.
7. Pour the vanilla cream into the pre-baked tart shells.
8. Brush the edges of the tart shells with beaten egg.
9. Bake at 200°C (400°F) for about 15-20 minutes, until the tops are golden brown.
