Description: This recipe brings the brewery tour atmosphere to your kitchen. Create delicious beers that will transport you to Suvilahti in Helsinki.
Preparation Time: 30 min + fermentation time
Serving Size: 5 liters
Ingredients:
- 2.5 kg light malt extract
- 500 g caramel malt
- 50 g hops (e.g., Cascade)
- 1 packet beer yeast
- 5 liters water
- 100 ml sugar (for bottling)
Instructions:
1. Boil 5 liters of water in a large pot.
2. Add the malt extracts and caramel malt, stir well, and boil for about 15 minutes.
3. Add the hops and boil for another 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
4. Remove the pot from heat and cool the wort quickly.
5. Transfer the wort to a fermentation vessel and add the yeast.
6. Allow to ferment at room temperature for about 1-2 weeks.
7. Bottle the beer, adding sugar before bottling to create carbonation.
8. Leave the bottles at room temperature for another 1-2 weeks.
