Delicious meatballs combining ground beef and beetroot, served with a perfect side dish. Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Serving Size: 4
Ingredients:
- 400 g ground beef
- 1 small onion
- 1 clove garlic
- 200 g grated beetroot
- 150 g Russian cheese (or a Finnish version)
- 2 tsp capers, finely chopped
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp dried rosemary
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp rapeseed oil
Instructions:
1. Finely chop the onion and garlic.
2. Sauté the onion and garlic in rapeseed oil until soft.
3. Combine the sautéed ingredients with the ground beef.
4. Add the grated beetroot, grated cheese, capers, egg, rosemary, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
5. Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F).
6. Shape the mixture into meatballs and place them on a baking tray.
7. Bake in the oven for about 10-15 minutes, until the meatballs are cooked through.
8. Optionally, you can also pan-fry the meatballs gently to achieve a nice color on the outside.
9. Serve with sour cream-seasoned sauerkraut and potatoes.
