A delightful jam combining tart lingonberries and sweet apples, perfect for spreading on toast or using in desserts. Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Serving Size: Makes approximately 8 jars
Ingredients:
- 1000 g lingonberries (cleaned and rinsed)
- 1200 g apples (about 2 liters, chopped, unpeeled, but seeds removed)
- 1 vanilla bean
- 1 tsp ground cardamom
- 2 dl water
- 6 dl sugar
- 3 dl jam sugar
Instructions:
1. Measure the lingonberries and apple pieces into a pot.
2. Measure the ground cardamom and place the vanilla bean in a spice bag, then add it to the pot.
3. Pour the water into the pot and bring the mixture to a boil.
4. Allow it to boil, stirring occasionally, for about 10 minutes.
5. Remove the spice bag from the pot.
6. Add both types of sugar to the pot and boil for another 10 minutes.
7. Once the apples soften, you can blend the jam to your desired consistency.
8. Pour the hot jam into clean jars and seal the lids.
9. Let it cool to room temperature.
10. Store the jam in the refrigerator or freeze it.
