This delicious Boston cake combines the freshness of lemon with the unique flavor of licorice. It's the perfect choice for your autumn dessert table!
Preparation Time: 1 hour + rising time
Serving Size: 8-10 servings

Ingredients:

- 500 g all-purpose flour
- 2 dl milk
- 25 g fresh yeast
- 100 g sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 dl melted butter
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp cardamom
- 200 g flavored quark (with lemon and licorice)
- Juice and zest of 1 lemon
- 1 dl licorice powder
- 1 egg (for brushing)

Instructions:

1. Warm the milk until it's lukewarm and dissolve the fresh yeast in it.
2. Add the sugar, salt, melted butter, eggs, and cardamom. Mix well.
3. Gradually add the flour and knead the dough for about 10 minutes until it is elastic.
4. Let the dough rise under a cloth in a warm place for about 30-40 minutes.
5. Prepare the filling by mixing the quark, lemon juice, zest, and licorice powder.
6. Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread the filling evenly on top. Roll it up tightly.
7. Place the roll in a greased cake pan and shape it into a round form.
8. Allow the cake to rise again for 20-30 minutes.
9. Brush the surface of the cake with the egg and bake at 180°C (350°F) for about 30-35 minutes until the top is beautifully golden brown.
10. Let it cool before serving.
