A delicious French stew perfect for enjoying with friends or family. Its hearty flavor and richness will transport you straight to France. Preparation time is about 1.5 hours and serves four.
Ingredients:
- 500 g diced beef
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 3 carrots, sliced
- 200 g mushrooms, sliced
- 400 ml beef broth
- 200 ml red wine
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 tbsp fresh thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions:
1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the diced beef and brown it nicely.
2. Add the chopped onion and crushed garlic to the pot, and sauté for about 5 minutes.
3. Add the sliced carrots and mushrooms, and cook for a few more minutes.
4. Pour in the beef broth and red wine. Add the bay leaves and thyme. Season with salt and pepper.
5. Cover the pot and let it simmer on low heat for about 1 hour.
6. Remove the bay leaves before serving and garnish with fresh parsley.
