Ingredients:
- 4 large potatoes
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme (optional)
Instructions:
1. Peel the potatoes and cut them into long slices about 1 cm thick.
2. Soak the potato slices in cold water for about 10 minutes to remove excess starch for crispier fries.
3. Drain and dry the potatoes thoroughly with a kitchen towel.
4. Place the potatoes in a bowl and add olive oil, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and thyme. Toss well to coat all the fries evenly.
5. Spread the seasoned potatoes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, ensuring they are not overlapping.
6. Bake at 200 degrees Celsius (400 degrees Fahrenheit) for about 25-30 minutes, until golden brown and crispy, flipping them halfway through the baking time.
7. Remove from the oven and serve hot.
