Ingredients:
- 200 g butter
- 250 g sugar
- 4 eggs
- 300 g all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 100 ml milk
- 1 tsp vanilla sugar
- 100 g chocolate (optional)
- 50 g nuts or almonds (optional)
- Powdered sugar for decoration
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
2. Grease and flour a cake pan.
3. In a bowl, cream the butter and sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.
4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
5. In a separate bowl, combine the flour and baking powder, then add to the batter alternately with the milk.
6. Stir in the vanilla sugar until smooth.
7. If desired, melt the chocolate and fold it into the batter along with the chopped nuts or almonds.
8. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
9. Bake in the oven for about 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
10. Let the cake cool before serving and dust the top with powdered sugar.
