Delicious and crispy, French fries make a perfect side dish or snack. Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Serving Size: 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 4 large potatoes
- 2 liters of oil (such as canola oil) for frying
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- (Optional) Spices like paprika or garlic powder
Instructions:
1. Peel the potatoes and cut them into long strips.
2. Rinse the potato strips in cold water and dry them thoroughly with paper towels.
3. Heat the oil in a large pot or deep fryer to about 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit).
4. Fry the potato strips in small batches in the oil until they are golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes.
5. Remove the fried fries and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil, then sprinkle with salt and any other desired spices.
6. Serve immediately, optionally with a dipping sauce.
