A delicious cake that combines a moist base, refreshing strawberry marinade, and creamy filling. Perfect for celebrations or a sweet treat any day!

Ingredients

Base:
- 4 eggs
- 1½ dl sugar
- 2 dl all-purpose flour
- 150 g butter or margarine
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1½ dl milk
Strawberry Marinade:
- 3 tsp orange zest
- 1 dl orange juice
- 300 g fresh strawberries (about 1.5 cups)
Cream Filling:
- 4 dl heavy cream
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla sugar
- ½ l raspberries (frozen)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Base:
- Beat the eggs and sugar until fluffy.
- Add melted butter and milk, mixing well.
- Combine flour and baking powder, then gently fold into the batter.
- Pour the batter into a greased and floured baking pan.
- Bake at 175°C (350°F) for about 25-30 minutes or until cooked through. Let it cool.
2. Prepare the Strawberry Marinade:
- In a bowl, combine orange zest, orange juice, and sliced strawberries. Allow to marinate for a while.
3. Prepare the Cream Filling:
- Whip the heavy cream with sugar and vanilla sugar until fluffy.
- Gently fold in the thawed raspberries.
4. Assemble the Cake:
- Cut the cooled base in half.
- Spread the strawberry marinade on one layer and top with the cream filling.
- Place the second layer on top and decorate with additional whipped cream and berries if desired.
5. Serve:
- Let the cake set in the refrigerator for at least one hour before serving.
