This warm and spiced Christmas mulled wine is the perfect drink for winter evenings and to enhance the festive spirit. Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Serving Size: 4-6 servings
Ingredients:
- 1 liter red wine - 200 ml apple juice
- 100 g sugar
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 5-6 cloves
- 3-4 cardamom pods
- 1 orange (sliced)
- 1 lemon (sliced)
- 200 ml vodka (optional)
Instructions:
1. Pour the red wine and apple juice into a pot.2. Add the sugar and stir until it dissolves.
3. Add the cinnamon stick, cloves, cardamom pods, orange slices, and lemon slices.
4. Heat the mixture over medium heat until it starts to steam, but do not let it boil.
5. Let the glögi simmer on low heat for about 15-20 minutes to allow the flavors to develop.
6. If desired, add vodka just before serving.
7. Strain the glögi into glasses and garnish with fresh spices or fruit slices if you wish.
