A warm and spicy Christmas drink, perfect for the festive season, especially after the declaration of Christmas peace. This recipe brings the spirit of Christmas and warms the heart. Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Serving Size: 4-6 servings
Ingredients:
- 1 liter of red wine or apple juice - 200 ml of water
- 2-3 tablespoons of sugar (to taste)
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 5-6 cloves
- 2-3 cardamom pods
- Zest of 1 lemon
- Zest of 1 orange
- (optional) 100 ml of vodka or rum
Instructions:
1. Pour the red wine or apple juice into a pot and add water. 2. Add sugar, cinnamon stick, cloves, cardamom pods, lemon zest, and orange zest.
3. Heat the mixture over low heat. Do not boil to prevent the alcohol from evaporating.
4. Allow the glögi to warm for about 20-30 minutes to let the spices infuse their flavors.
5. Strain the glögi and serve hot. If desired, add vodka or rum just before serving.
