A delicious and vibrant Christmas herring dish that's easy to prepare. This recipe adds color and flavor to your holiday table.
Preparation Time: 20 minutes + chilling time
Serving Size: 8-10 servings
Ingredients:
- 3-4 lightly salted herring fillets
Sauce:
- 1.5 dl ketchup
- 3 tbsp chili ketchup
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1 tbsp mustard
- 1 tbsp red wine vinegar
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
Instructions:
1. Cut the herring fillets into bite-sized pieces and place them in a serving dish.
2. In a bowl, mix all the sauce ingredients together until well combined.
3. Pour the sauce over the herring and gently stir to coat the pieces in sauce.
4. Allow to chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.
5. Serve on your Christmas table.
