A refreshing non-alcoholic drink made from fresh blackcurrant leaves, perfect for any occasion.
Preparation Time: 1 hour (plus 24 hours chilling)
Serving Size: Makes approximately 10 servings
Ingredients:
- 2½ liters fresh blackcurrant leaves
- 5 liters water
- ½ kg fine sugar
- 25 g tartaric acid
- 25 g citric acid
Instructions:
1. Rinse the blackcurrant leaves thoroughly in cold water.
2. In a large pot, bring 5 liters of water to a boil and add the rinsed leaves.
3. Let the mixture simmer on low heat for about 30 minutes.
4. Strain the liquid to remove the leaves.
5. Add the fine sugar to the hot liquid and stir until the sugar dissolves completely.
6. Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then add the tartaric acid and citric acid. Mix well.
7. Pour the drink into clean bottles and seal tightly.
8. Let the shampanja steep in the refrigerator for at least 24 hours before serving.
9. Serve chilled and enjoy!
