A delicious addition to your breakfast table or a perfect snack, these nutritious rye and flaxseed rolls are full of flavor. Preparation Time: 2 hours
Serving Size: 12 rolls
Ingredients:
- 3½ dl rye flakes - Approximately 800 g wheat flour
- 50 g fresh yeast (or dry yeast according to package instructions)
- 2 tsp salt
- 3 tbsp syrup
- 5 dl water
- ½ dl flaxseeds (ground)
- 75 g margarine
Instructions:
1. Dissolve the rye flakes and flaxseeds in 5 dl of lukewarm water and let sit for about 10 minutes.2. Add syrup, salt, and yeast to the mixture, and mix well.
3. Gradually add wheat flour to the dough, kneading until it becomes elastic.
4. Incorporate the softened margarine into the dough and knead for a little longer.
5. Allow the dough to rise under a cloth for about 1 hour or until it has doubled in size.
6. Shape the dough into rolls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
7. Let the rolls rise for another 30 minutes.
8. Bake at 225°C (437°F) for about 12-15 minutes, until the rolls are beautifully golden brown.
9. Allow to cool on a rack before serving.
