A delicious Korean dish made with rice, meat, and assorted vegetables. This recipe is easy to customize according to your taste preferences and makes use of ingredients you may already have in your fridge. Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Serving Size: 2-3 servings
Ingredients:
- 2 cups cooked rice - 200 g beef (or chicken/tofu)
- 1 carrot
- 1 cucumber
- 1 cup spinach
- 1 cup mushrooms (e.g., button mushrooms)
- 2 eggs
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
- 2 tablespoons oil (e.g., sesame or canola oil)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
1. Prepare the rice according to package directions and keep warm. 2. Slice the beef into strips and marinate with soy sauce, salt, and pepper.
3. Peel and julienne the carrot, and slice the cucumber. Rinse the spinach and quickly sauté it in oil. Also, sauté the mushrooms.
4. Heat oil in a pan and cook the marinated meat until fully cooked. Remove from the pan and keep warm.
5. Cook the eggs to your liking (e.g., fried or poached).
6. Assemble the bowls: place rice on a plate, then add the meat, carrot, cucumber, spinach, mushrooms, and the cooked egg on top.
7. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve with gochujang on the side.
