A delightful Finnish pastry filled with plum jam, perfect for festive occasions. Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Serving Size: 12 pastries
Ingredients:
- 1 package of puff pastry
- 1 can of oven-safe plum jam
- 1 egg (lightly beaten)
- Powdered sugar
Instructions:
1. Thaw the puff pastry sheets according to the package instructions.
2. Cut the pastry sheets into square rectangles.
3. Place a spoonful of plum jam in the center of each square.
4. Moisten the edges of the pastry with water and fold the corners into the center.
5. Pinch the sides together to seal the jam inside.
6. Flatten the pastry slightly and turn it over.
7. Make four cuts on top of the pastry, stopping just before the center.
8. Moisten your fingers and pinch the tips together.
9. Brush the pastries with the beaten egg.
10. Bake at 225°C (437°F) in the center of the oven for about 10-15 minutes.
11. Dust with powdered sugar just before serving.
