Preparation time: 1 hour + cooling time
Serving size: 8-10 servings

Ingredients:

- 200 g butter
- 2.5 dl sugar
- 4 eggs
- 5 dl all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 dl milk
- 1 tsp vanilla sugar
- 400 g mascarpone cheese
- 2 dl heavy cream
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar
- Fresh berries (e.g., strawberries, raspberries, blueberries)
- Decorations (e.g., edible flowers)

Instructions:

1. Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease and flour three round cake pans.
2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
3. In a separate bowl, combine the flour and baking powder. Gradually add this to the butter mixture alternately with the milk. Finally, stir in the vanilla sugar.
4. Divide the batter evenly among the three prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow to cool in the pans for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
5. For the filling, whip together the mascarpone, heavy cream, and powdered sugar until smooth and fluffy.
6. Assemble the cake: Place one layer of the cake on a serving plate. Spread a layer of the mascarpone cream over the top and sprinkle with fresh berries. Repeat with the next two layers.
7. Decorate the top of the cake with fresh berries and edible flowers as desired.
8. Chill the cake in the refrigerator for about an hour before serving.
