A rich and hearty venison stew perfect for winter evenings. This delicious dish is easy to prepare and will satisfy both family and guests. Preparation Time: 2 hours
Serving Size: 4-6 servings
Ingredients:
- 800 g venison stew meat
- Oil or butter for frying
- 2 onions
- 1 tbsp flour
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- White pepper to taste
- 2 bay leaves
- Fresh chili to taste
- 4 dl water or beef broth
- 3-4 potatoes (optional)
- 2-3 carrots (optional)
Instructions:
1. Cut the venison stew meat into cubes.
2. Heat oil or butter in a large pot and brown the meat cubes.
3. Add the chopped onions to the pot and sauté until soft.
4. Sprinkle flour over the meat and onions and mix well.
5. Season with salt, black pepper, and white pepper.
6. Add the bay leaves and chopped chili.
7. Pour in the water or beef broth and stir.
8. Let the pot simmer on low heat for about 1.5 hours, until the meat is tender.
9. If desired, add diced potatoes and carrots towards the end of cooking.
10. Serve warm, preferably with fresh bread.
