This delicious dish features tender pike braised with aromatic fennel, carrots, and potatoes, all enveloped in a creamy yogurt sauce. A perfect meal for fish lovers!
Ingredients:
- 2 whole pikes (cleaned and filleted)
- 2 bay leaves
- 0.5 tsp salt
- 1 tsp allspice
- 2 fennel bulbs (sliced)
- 5 dl Turkish yogurt
- Fish stock or white wine (as needed)
- 2 carrots (sliced)
- 8 potatoes (peeled and cubed)
- 3 star anise
- Fresh dill (for garnish)
Instructions:
1. If the pikes are not pre-filleted, fillet them carefully.
2. Peel and slice the fennel, carrots, and potatoes.
3. In a pot, heat the yogurt and add bay leaves, salt, allspice, and star anise.
4. Add the sliced fennel, carrots, and potatoes to the pot. Pour in enough fish stock or white wine to cover the vegetables.
5. Place the pike fillets on top of the vegetables and let simmer on low heat for about 20-30 minutes, until the fish and vegetables are tender.
6. Serve the dish garnished with fresh dill.
