A delicious Hungarian traditional dish made from fried dough. This crispy and tasty snack is perfect served with dips or fillings. Preparation Time: 1 hour
Serving Size: 4-6 servings
Ingredients:
- 2 medium potatoes- 25 g yeast
- 300 ml milk
- 3 tbsp powdered sugar
- 550 g all-purpose flour
- 3 tbsp oil
- 1 tsp salt
- Oil for frying
Instructions:
1. Peel and boil the potatoes until soft. Mash them until smooth.2. Warm the milk to lukewarm and dissolve the yeast in it.
3. Add the mashed potatoes, powdered sugar, oil, and salt to the milk-yeast mixture.
4. Gradually add the flour and knead the dough until it is elastic and comes away from your hands.
5. Cover the dough with a cloth and let it rise for about 30 minutes.
6. Divide the dough into 4-6 portions and shape them into flat discs.
7. Heat oil in a frying pan and fry the discs on both sides until golden brown.
8. Place the finished Lángos on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
