A delicious homemade jam made from a mix of blackcurrants and redcurrants. Perfect for spreading on toast or using as a filling in desserts. Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Serving Size: Makes about 4 jars
Ingredients:
- 1 kg blackcurrants and redcurrants
- 500 g sugar
- 100 ml water
- Juice of 1/2 lemon
Instructions:
1. Wash the currants thoroughly and remove the stems.
2. Place the currants in a pot and add the water.
3. Heat the mixture over medium heat until the currants begin to soften.
4. Add the sugar and lemon juice, stirring well to combine.
5. Boil the jam for about 15-20 minutes, until it reaches your desired consistency.
6. Pour the jam into clean, heated jars and seal tightly.
7. Allow to cool at room temperature before storing.
