A refreshing and flavorful side dish that complements crispy pork or burgers. Preparation time: 20 minutes. Serves: 4. Ingredients:
- 1 small cabbage (approximately 300 g), thinly sliced - 2 medium carrots, grated
- 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1/4 cup sesame seeds
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon honey or sugar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 chili, finely chopped (optional)
Instructions:
1. In a large bowl, combine the cabbage, carrots, bell pepper, and cilantro. 2. In a separate bowl, prepare the dressing by mixing together the soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, sesame oil, and chili (if using).
3. Pour the dressing over the vegetables and mix well to ensure all ingredients are coated.
4. Stir in the sesame seeds and let the coleslaw marinate in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes before serving.
5. Serve the coleslaw as a side dish or as a filling for burgers.
