A hearty and flavorful dish made with ground beef and pork, simmered overnight for maximum taste. Perfect for a comforting meal.
Preparation Time: 1 hour + overnight chilling
Serving Size: 4-6 servings
Ingredients:
- 500 g ground beef
- 250 g ground pork
- 2 onions
- 2 garlic cloves
- 2 dl beef broth
- 1 dl cream
- 2 tbsp mustard
- 1 tbsp vinegar
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 dl mushrooms (optional)
- Butter for frying
Instructions:
1. Finely chop the onions and garlic.
2. Heat butter in a pan and sauté the onions until soft.
3. Add the ground beef and pork to the pan and cook until browned.
4. Stir in the beef broth, cream, mustard, vinegar, sugar, salt, black pepper, paprika, and bay leaves.
5. Mix well and let simmer on low heat for about 10 minutes.
6. Transfer the mixture to an oven-safe dish and cover tightly.
7. Let it stew overnight in the refrigerator.
8. The next day, preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F) and heat the vorshcmack for about 30-40 minutes before serving.
9. Serve with potatoes or rye bread.
