A delicious French potato dish that combines a creamy texture with flavorful spices. Perfectly pairs with pork, chicken, or steak. Preparation Time: About 1 hour
Serving Size: 4-6 servings
Ingredients:
- Potatoes, about 1 kg - Salt, 1 tsp
- White pepper, 1 tsp
- Milk, 300 ml
- Sour cream, 200 g
- Nutmeg, 0.5 tsp
- Garlic clove (optional)
- Butter, 2 tbsp
Instructions:
1. Wash the potatoes and peel them if necessary. Slice the potatoes thinly and place them in a bowl. Season with salt and white pepper.2. Pour the milk into a saucepan and bring it to a boil. Add the potato slices and reduce the heat, simmering for about 10 minutes while stirring occasionally.
3. Add the sour cream and nutmeg, continuing to simmer for another 15 minutes, carefully lifting the potatoes.
4. Grease a baking dish with butter. Pour the potatoes along with the sauce into the dish. Dot the top with small pieces of butter.
5. Bake in a preheated oven at 225°C (437°F) for about 30 minutes, until the top is beautifully golden.
