A delicious and hearty dish that combines salted pork and root vegetables, perfect for a winter dinner.
Preparation Time: 2 hours
Serving Size: 4-6 people
Ingredients:
- 500 g salted pork
- 2 turnips
- 2 carrots
- 1 celeriac
- 1 parsnip
- 1 leek
- 10 whole black peppercorns
- 2 bay leaves
- Fresh parsley for garnish
- 1 l water
- Salt to taste
Instructions:
1. Peel and chop all the root vegetables (turnip, carrot, celeriac, parsnip) and the leek.
2. Cut the salted pork into cubes.
3. Heat a bit of oil in a large pot and brown the pork cubes until golden.
4. Add the chopped vegetables and leek to the pot and stir well.
5. Pour in the water and add the whole black peppercorns, bay leaves, and salt to taste.
6. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat. Let it simmer gently for about 1.5 hours, until the meat and vegetables are tender.
7. Remove the bay leaves before serving.
8. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
