Experience the creamy softness of Jymyjäätelö, a delightful ice cream made from organic farm milk that melts in your mouth. Preparation Time: 1.5 hours (plus freezing time)
Serving Size: 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 4 dl organic milk - 2 dl cream
- 1 dl sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla sugar
- 4 egg yolks
- 1 dl flavor of your choice (e.g., berries, chocolate, or nuts)
Instructions:
1. Heat the milk and cream in a saucepan over medium heat until it starts to steam.2. In a separate bowl, whisk the egg yolks and sugar together until light and fluffy.
3. Slowly pour the hot milk mixture into the egg mixture, stirring continuously to prevent the eggs from cooking.
4. Pour the mixture back into the saucepan and heat over low heat until it thickens slightly. Do not let it boil.
5. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla sugar and your chosen flavoring. Mix well.
6. Allow the mixture to cool at room temperature, then transfer it to the refrigerator for about an hour.
7. Pour the ice cream mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
8. If you do not have an ice cream maker, pour the mixture into a freezer-safe container and stir it every 30 minutes until fully frozen.
