A rustic apple galette combining the delightful sweetness of sesame halva with juicy apples. Perfect for dessert or a coffee table treat.

Serving Size: 6-8 servings

Ingredients:

- 200 g sesame seeds
- 100 g honey (or maple syrup)
- 2 large apples
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 sheet of prepared pie dough
- 1 tablespoon butter (or vegetable oil)
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- A pinch of salt
- 1 egg (for brushing)

Instructions:

1. Toast the sesame seeds in a dry pan for about 5 minutes until golden brown. Allow to cool.
2. Mix the cooled sesame seeds with honey in a bowl until smooth.
3. Peel and slice the apples thinly. Toss the apple slices with lemon juice, cinnamon, and salt.
4. Roll out the pie dough on a floured surface into a circle and transfer it to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
5. Arrange the apple slices in the center of the dough, leaving about 5 cm of space around the edges.
6. Spread the sesame halva mixture over the apple slices.
7. Fold the edges of the dough over the apples and halva.
8. Brush the edges of the dough with the beaten egg and sprinkle a little sugar on top.
9. Bake at 180°C for approximately 30-35 minutes until the galette is golden brown.
10. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
