Spiced Gingerbread Muffins

A delightful recipe that brings the festive spirit to your kitchen with soft, spiced muffins filled with delicious gingerbread cream and topped with whipped cream. Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Serving Size: 6 muffins
Ingredients:
- 140 g all-purpose flour
- 1.5 tsp baking powder
- A pinch of salt
- 75 g sugar
- 0.5 tsp cinnamon
- 0.5 tsp cloves
- 0.5 tsp orange zest
- A pinch of ginger
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp oil
- 120 ml milk
- 1 tbsp syrup
- (optional: about 100 ml cream/jam/filling for muffins)
- 100 ml heavy cream
- Sugar to taste
- Vanilla extract
- Orange sugar or orange zest
Instructions:
1. In a bowl, mix the dry ingredients and spices together.
2. In another bowl, whisk together the egg, oil, milk, and syrup. Combine the wet mixture with the dry ingredients and stir quickly until smooth.
3. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 15 minutes. Allow the muffins to cool.
4. Hollow out the center of the cooled muffins and fill them with your chosen filling.
5. Whip the cream with sugar and vanilla until peaks form. Decorate the muffins with whipped cream and any other toppings you prefer.
