Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

A simple yet flavorful Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and chili flakes. Preparation time: 20 minutes

Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red chili flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente.
2. While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
3. Add the sliced garlic to the skillet and sauté until golden, being careful not to burn it.
4. Stir in the red chili flakes and let it cook for an additional minute.
5. Once the spaghetti is done, reserve a cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
6. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet and toss well to coat in the garlic oil.
7. If the pasta seems dry, add a little reserved pasta water.
8. Season with salt to taste and garnish with fresh parsley.
9. Serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
