Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water and then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and cook until golden brown, about 2 minutes.
3. Stir in the red pepper flakes and cook for an additional minute, being careful not to burn the garlic.
4. Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet, along with the reserved pasta water. Toss well to combine and season with salt to taste.
5. Remove from heat and garnish with chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired. Serve immediately.
