Autumn Mushroom Pie with Bacon

A delicious mushroom pie featuring mushrooms and bacon, perfect for serving at gatherings or family meals. Preparation Time: 1 hour
Serving Size: 6 servings
Ingredients:
- 250 g flour - 125 g butter
- 1 dl water
- 200 g mushrooms (e.g., chanterelles or porcini)
- 150 g bacon
- 1 onion
- 2 eggs
- 2 dl cream
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh herbs (e.g., parsley or thyme)
Instructions:
1. First, prepare the dough: In a bowl, mix the flour and butter, then add the water and knead until smooth. Let the dough rest in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.2. Peel and finely chop the onion, and cut the bacon into small pieces. Fry the bacon and onion in a pan until the bacon is crispy.
3. Add the chopped mushrooms to the pan and cook until the moisture has evaporated. Season with salt and pepper.
4. Roll out the dough to fit a pie dish and line the dish with the dough.
5. Spread the mushroom mixture over the bottom of the crust.
6. In a bowl, crack the eggs, add the cream, and mix well. Pour the mixture over the mushrooms.
7. Bake at 200°C (about 400°F) for 30-35 minutes, until the top is beautifully golden brown.
8. Allow to cool slightly before serving. Garnish with fresh herbs.
