A delicious Finnish cinnamon roll, perfect for coffee breaks. Preparation Time: 1 hour (including rising)
Serving Size: 12 rolls
Ingredients:
- 500 g ready-made sweet dough
- 100 g softened butter
- 1 dl sugar
- 2 tbsp cinnamon
- 1 dl almond flakes (optional)
- 1 egg (for brushing)
- A pinch of salt
Instructions:
1. Allow the sweet dough to thaw at room temperature.
2. Roll out the dough into a rectangle about 1 cm thick.
3. Spread the softened butter evenly over the dough.
4. Mix the sugar and cinnamon together, then sprinkle the mixture over the butter.
5. Add almond flakes if using.
6. Roll the dough tightly from the long side to form a log.
7. Cut the log into 2-3 cm thick slices.
8. Place the slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and let them rise for about 30 minutes.
9. Brush the rolls with beaten egg.
10. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (392°F) for about 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
11. Allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy!
