Classic Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

A simple and flavorful Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and red pepper flakes. Preparation Time: 20 minutes

Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti - 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti. 2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until golden and fragrant, about 2 minutes.
3. Add the red pepper flakes and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
4. Toss the drained spaghetti in the skillet with the garlic oil, adding a little reserved pasta water to help combine. Mix well.
5. Season with salt to taste and garnish with chopped parsley.
6. Serve hot, with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
